The National BULPHAR’2012 Programme

The National BULPHAR’2012 (Bulgarian Physical Activity and Recreation) Programme was drafted drawing on the experience of the already implemented National Programmes Bulphar’2000 (1998 – 2000), Bulphar’2004 (2001-2004) and Bulphar’2008 (2005-2008). Harmonised with the principles laid in the Physical Education and Sports Act, the Programme has been envisaged to cover the 2009 – 2012 period.

A broad range of experts took part in the design of this Programme, and a great number of organization and management experts were consulted. We have drawn largely on the world experience and the documents of the Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA).

The Programme encompasses a vast array of events – at international, national, local and target group level, meant for every age group, and including also the disabled and disadvantaged people.

The Programme’s key objective is to make the Sport for All movement vastly popular throughout the country and by means of the events it encompasses to foster the individual motivation of the people to do regularly their own physical exercises for better health, work potential and longevity.

The implementation of the Programme is down to all state and social structures and institutions, whose help and support are indispensable to the desired success of the venture.
